COSSS secure third place in the National Arena League Final!

The 43rd National Arena League Final took place on Sunday 22nd of April at Ponds Forge. The top clubs from the 6 regional leagues and the 4 best runners-up competed for the national title; City of Sheffield and City of Leeds represented the North East League. Swimmers competed in under 11s, 13s, 15s and open age groups.

The support for all the participating clubs was fantastic which contributed to a superb atmosphere during the event and some fantastic performances in the pool. There were many top 3 places, but there were 5 swimmers that won Individual races; well done Izzy Grant, Blake Bennett, Sam Budd, Ellie Faulkner and Lewis Coleman. Throughout the afternoon's swimming, COSSS were in the top 3 places on the points scoreboard – Plymouth Leander led impressively from the early events and COSSS, City of Leeds and Hatfield battled for the next 3 places. With only a few events to go, COSSS were in 4th place, but fantastic performances in the last few relay events meant the team was able to grab 3rd place – a very impressive result and the highest COSSS has finished in recent memory!
