Andy Shepherd from Senior Elite Squad has decided to hang up his trunks, and retire from swimming.

Andy has swum with us at COSSS since 2003 when he came to study at Sheffield Hallam University. Over the years, Andy has had some fantastic results, including being Yorkshire, North Eastern and National Champion, he has represented GB and is the current Senior Yorkshire record holder in the 100m Backstroke.

Head Coach Russ Barber says "Andy has been an absolute legend within the club for the last 7 years. He has shown amazing commitment and dedication, and has been one of the key swimmers that has helped put COSSS back on the map. It is such a shame that injury has finished his swimming career early, but we all wish him good luck as he moves on with his life now.

I would personally like to thank Andy for all his hard work, belief and for supporting me over the years, and he should be very proud of his fine achievements. Well done Shep!!"

Andy has now set up a company called Absolute Sport Nutrition, to provide an advanced nutritional advice service to swimmers/athletes, coaches and parents, to advise on what foods and eating habits help for harder training, quicker recovery and generally help with their careers.
