Kate Clifton started the final session on day 3 with a new personal best in the Open 50 freestyle final, in 25.75. Kate came a brilliant forth in that final, really showing her raw speed superb straight arm technique. With the 100 freestyle tomorrow, we will be hoping Kate can keep that speed going over the double distance. Isobel Grant managed to improve from her heat swim in the 200 Fly final coming in eighth in 2:13.37.

Charlie Brown is not letting his fine form slip away, with a personal best in the heats this morning, he bettered that time with a fifth place finish in the Junior final of the 100 freestyle in 51.49. In the Transition final Elliott Clogg took a brilliant 2nd place in 50.27, improving from his heat swim. Elliot looked rapid on the first 50 and it should be exciting ti see him compete over the 50 freestyle on Saturday.

We are looking forward see what our swimmers can produce in the pool in the second half of these Championships. But it won’t just be the seniors in action, JO1 have arrived in Portsmouth so make sure to keep an eye out for our up and coming swimmers over this weekend as well.
