The second round of the Barnsley Minors League took place on 12th May at Edlington. It was again a great performance from Team Steel taking the 1st spot, putting us in an awesome position at the half way point of the 4 BML rounds.

The team, coached by Wendy, had to show some strong team spirit to take the win as after half of the events we were 1 point behind in 2nd place, but some speedy swimming and great relays, pushed us into 1st place. All the kids did a fantastic job and represented Team Steel superbly, especially Tyrese Gregory who normally swims in the 11/12 year group swam not in 1 but 2 age groups up and put in some huge performances to ensure we got the points in the relays. The Masters squad were able to help out in the 15 and over category with the new addition from Hallam University Harry Mews really impressing with his underwater work, hopefully the younger ones were taking notes and will be using these skills in their future races. It was great to see Jack Moulton swap his stopwatch for trunks and googles and show the kids he still has got it in the pool. Also a huge thank you to the parents who volunteered, it is really appreciated.

The 3rd round, which is our home round, will be held on the 23rd June at Stocksbridge and it would be great to see Team Steel take first spot again for a 3rd time in a row.
