After a compelling first round at Ponds Forge, this time it was a trip up to Leeds for the next round of the North East Region Arena League. After a very tight competition between City of Leeds and City of Sheffield A Team and an impressive performance by the B team in October, there were high expectations of an exciting evening of swimming on the Saturday 24th of November. Despite some key absentees, our open swimmers in both A and B teams were impressive. However, the younger swimmers really stepped up their swimming and put in some fantastic individual and relay performances. Neither COSSS team disappointed! Our A team was neck-and-neck with City of Leeds throughout the evening, finally resulting in a tie after COSSS A team won the final event. However, Leeds were placed first having won more events during the evening. COSSS B also put in a fine performance, finishing just 9 points behind Harrogate. Unfortunately neither Borough of Kirklees or Scunthorpe attended the 2nd round.

A special mention should go to those who travelled to the event to swim one or two relay legs; without them the teams' successes would not have been possible.

The final round will be held at Leeds on Saturday 8th December.
